Today I met the Professor. He spent most of his life teaching law. He wrote many respected books on the subject. Awards hung on his walls. On a shelf, a photo of his beautiful wife and another of him throwing out the first pitch at a Tigers game. “Liberty Bell”, a poem he wrote at the time of our nation’s bicentennial made me stop for a moment to read.
All this from a man who, now in his 90’s, fumbled with the hospital bracelet on his right wrist as he struggled to answer questions like “What year is it?”, “Where are you right now?” and “Can you tell me your full name, sir?” Thanks for one more lesson, Professor.
