Starting a new photo series for 2014. After perusing ideas on the interwebs for a few weeks, I’ve decided to do 100 street portraits of complete strangers in 365 days. Besides being just plain fun (and a little intimidating), it will, I’m sure, sharpen my chops as the year progresses.

The day was bitter cold, overcast and a light snow continued to fall all day. Once I pulled into the Heidelberg Project in Detroit, this guy presented himself as Lincoln, the “caretaker” of the Heidelberg project. After a brief conversation, he agreed to have his picture taken. I took three shots and moved on. One down, 99 to go.

Postscript: It’s been suggested by a friend that the person I photographed was actually Tyree Guyton, the Detroit artist behind the Heidelberg Project.
